Reorganization - Phase Two - Job Descriptions

The recommendations of the Transformation Committee received board approval during the Mar 2008 board meeting. According to the timeline, as provided here, the committee is releasing the positions and their job descriptions to the Hartnell community for comment.

As you consider these job descriptions we ask that you think of them separately from previous positions here at the college. We would like you to focus on the vision of the transformation of the college and how the duties and responsibilities of these proposed position descriptions can facilitate that vision. As you prepare to comment on these descriptions, please take a look at the reorganization chart to refer to the context in which these positions were created. Again we look forward to hearing from the campus community as we all move forward to implement the transformation.

Please respond to the blog with your comments, no later than April 11. Also, to respond to a particular job description make sure you put the name of the position in front of the comment you are making about that position. Start a new paragraph at each job description you would like to comment on.

"Dreams" - The Transformation of Hartnell College

Dear Colleagues:

The recommendations of the Transformation Committee received board approval during the Mar 2008 board meeting. The actions going forward to implement this organizational transformation, and more importantly, to change the culture, require visible adherence to communicated standards of ethics, integrity and transparency.

The following information provides the action items and timeline to guide the fulfillment of newly created positions resulting from Phase I of the transformation plan:
Implementing the Vision

This first portion of the reorganization of Hartnell College is a "dream" in which the college has been transformed and transported to the year 2020. A second piece will be posted on Friday (22nd). This portion breaks the process into five phases and struggles to balance competing realities while working continuously to transform the "culture" of the college.
