HARTNELL'S OWN FIELD OF DREAMS

It couldn't look any better had it been cut out of an Iowa cornfield. You almopst expect some sort of ghostly ballplayer wearing a Hartnell College baseball uniform to come walking slowly out of the center field fence. Only this time no one is saying " If you build it". In the case of the new Hartnell College baseball field, it's just about been built. " This is a Division I facility, " Hartnell coach and athletic director Danny Teresa said. The finishing touches will take a while. The scoreboard, stadium seating, bleachers and landscaping, among other things, still need to be added. But even in its unfinished state, it's obvious that Hartnell's sparkling new baseball complex will be one of the finest in the state. " This is going to be the pride and joy of Salinas,Teresa said. " This is going to be something the whole community can be proud of?"
