Panthers Men's Basketball team is still in the playoff hunt going into the last regular season game this Friday night 7:00pm at West Valley College. The seeding meeting for the COA tournament is Febuary 22. The brackets should be posted by 4:00pm.

Panthers partner with GBA in HOOPING FOR CHANGE

Hartnell Men's Basketball program is partnering with the Gil Basketball Academy to help in their "HOOPING FOR CHANGE" program. This is to help Salinas area youth with support and positive help through their school age years. Andrew Vasher said "We are very exciting for this association with Jose Gil and this program. It can have a tremendous impact in the lives of young people in Salinas. I know it will have a positive impact on our student/athletes who get involved.

Streak of ranked weeks is still intact

The Panthers Men's Basketball team continues to be ranked for 13 straight weeks. Colton Burgon is leading the Panthers in scoring and rebounding. He is currently in the top three in freshmen Post men in state of California. Off the court, Chris Lee has carried a 4.0 GPA for three straight semesters.

Hartnell Panthers are headed for a rematch against number 3# ranked San Jose City College saturday 3:00pm at SJCC. The Panthers are on a two game winning streak and have been ranked since Thanksgiving.

Hanther Panthers suffered a heartbreaking double overtime loss to West Valley Vikings Wednesday night. Donta Mosley had an opportunity at the end of regular and the first overtime to give the Panthers a victory, but both shots fell short. The Panthers defeated DeAnza COllege 77-75 on the road. Hartnell keeps its streak alive of being ranked. This weeks games are against Gavlian College Wednesday Feb 3 at 7:30pm at Hartnell and a rematch at San Jose City against number two team in the rankings. Saturday Feb 6 3:00pm San Jose City College.

Cold shooting in second half by Panthers allowed Cabrillo to take contol of the game. The loss keeps Hartnell in second place in the Coast South. Panthers leading scorers: 10 pts from Blake Francom and Brian Kiely. A big Coast Conference match up this Wednesday at Hartnell vs West Valley Vikings at 5:30.

Big Road Win at MPC

The Panthers jumped on MPC Lobos 40 to 21 in first half and never looked back to a 74-59 win. Four wins in last five games since Christmas break.Hartnell is one game back of 1st place San Jose City. The Panthers were sparked of the bench with great defense from Donte Mosley and Brian Kiely and 14 points in second half from Chris Lee. Next game Sat. Hartnell plays number #8 ranked San Jose City College Wednesday Jan 13, 10 at 5:30 at Hartnell. Both teams come into the game 2-0 in conference.

Former Panther offered Pro contract in France

EJ Petty former standout on 2006-07 Coast Conference Championship team has been offered to play professionally in France. After Hartnell EJ went on to Mississippi Valley State University and had the opportunity to play UCLA and Kevin Love in the 1st round of the NCAA tournament. Congratulation to EJ.
