Frequently Asked Questions If I am
selected to participate in Study Abroad or Domestic Study Travel Program, what
type of compensation will I receive? If selected, you will
receive an honorarium of $1,500 to cover all pre-departure planning as outlined
in previous pages. Once sufficient participants have enrolled, a contract will
be developed with the Workforce and Community Development Center to cover
on-site program instruction. If there are sufficient students, program
expenses, as budgeted, will be paid including airfare, accommodations, meal
stipend, ground transportation, admissions, and other related costs. When IÕm not
in class or on an excursion with students, arenÕt I free to do as I please? Yes and no. If there are
no problems or issues, you may find you actually have some free time. Such
occasions are few and far between. You will mostly find yourself occupied with
student issues or you may be planning the schedule and making arrangements for
the days ahead. Can family
members, friends or guests come along? We discourage family
members, friends, or guests from coming along due to the short duration of the
program and because of the many responsibilities of the faculty leaders. The
College will NOT reimburse faculty for expenses incurred by family members,
guests or friends. If selected,
what will be my responsibilities before, during and after the study travel
program? Your responsibilities
have been outlined in the previous pages of this document. They will also be
outlined when you receive your honorarium and in the contract prepared by the
Workforce and Community Development Center. If IÕm not
selected, what alternatives can I explore? If you are not selected,
please speak with the Center staff. They have some other options for you to
explore. Of course, you are welcome to resubmit your proposal in subsequent
years. |
